More Information for Coaches

Thinking about becoming a coach? Great, this could be one of the most meaningful things you decide to do. Not only are you making a positive impact on the young people you coach, but you're making a difference in your community. The mission of First Touch Sports is to use soccer as a tool to teach valuable life skills. Our vision is to be a partner in helping to build a safe and healthy community for young people and families to live, work, and enjoy life.

To support you as a coach we will offer coach training and the opportunity for you to earn youth soccer coaching license(s). We will also provide you with the equipment that you need (balls, pennies, and cones) and a convenient practice time that fits your busy schedule.

First Touch Soccer Coaches make the following commitments:
  • Complete the free background check offered on Saturdays and Wednesday evenings at Police Headquarters located at 10001 Iron Bridge Road (Route 10) in Chesterfield.
  • Complete SafeSport Training offered for free through the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) and U.S. Youth Soccer.
  • Conduct a minimum of 1 practice per week (2nd practice is optional) weather permitting.
  • Follow the VYSA Coaches Code of Conduct (adopted by First Touch Sports).
Practice start the week of March 1st and the season begins Saturday, March 19th. Practices and games will be held conveniently at Bensley Park.
